Jaclyn Malek is a Licensed Professional Counselor through the state of Michigan and is a Nationally Certified Counselor. Jaclyn graduated with her MA from Oakland University, where she also completed a Post-Master's specialization in Mental Health. She has worked with a variety of populations in hospital, community agency, and private practice settings. Jaclyn has also spent the past year at Oakland University administering academic advising appointments and has a strong interest in aiding clients with career indecision.
Jaclyn specializes in children, adolescents, adults, and families and operates from an eclectic approach, with emphasis in psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Although Jaclyn has experience working with diverse populations, her major areas of interest include family conflict, trauma, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, self-injury, career and school guidance, chronic illness and pain, grief and loss, and ADD/ADHD. In session Jaclyn focuses on honesty, personal strengths, and a nonjudgmental atmosphere to encourage a strong therapeutic bond.
