jamie burnstein, ma, llp

Jamie Burnstein grew up in Farmington Hills, MI and graduated with a degree in Social Sciences and Pre-Law from Michigan State University in 2000.  He subsequently received his Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology in 2002 from the Michigan School of Professional Psychology and is currently a limited licensed psychologist in the State of Michigan.  Jamie completed an internship in dual diagnosis treatment and has worked over the last 12 years providing home-based therapy to high risk and crisis-oriented clients.  Jamie's clinical focus has been on reducing behavioral problems, anger/aggression and emotional dysregulation in children and on treating mood, anxiety, and substance abuse disorders in young adults.
Mr. Burnstein is also currently a faculty member at MISPP where he provides clinical supervision to master level students at their practicum site, Common Ground in Pontiac.  Jamie's approach to treatment is client-centered, cognitive-behavioral in theory and humanistic based with an emphasis on developing healthy, therapeutic relationships with clients.
