Jessica Humiston-Aman completed her Master of Arts in Counseling at Oakland University, and has practiced at Wentworth and Associates since April 2015, where she began as an intern. She uses an integrative approach to counseling, including Adlerian, Solution Focused, and Person Centered, and Cognitive Behavioral approaches. Jessica is also an EMDR therapist.
She believes in being genuine with clients, creating a therapeutic environment where her clients are welcome to be themselves and explore their concerns openly. Jessica enjoys embarking with clients on the journey to change, and allows her clients to navigate this journey, as she believes her clients are the experts on their own lives.
Jessica is passionate about working with the LGBTQ community, as well as friends and loved ones of LGBTQ individuals. Jessica is also passionate about working with adolescents and adults on the Autism Spectrum, and has received specialized training on Autism and Sexuality. Jessica teaches social communication classes in Livingston county to individuals with developmental and cognitive disabilities. She also has experience in working with career concerns, anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss, adults, and adolescents. Jessica believes each individual is deeply influenced by their own culture, and she celebrates the differences that define us and make us unique.
Jessica can accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, and HAP insurances. She also accepts private pay and sliding scale payments.
