Vince Anila helps adolescents and adults who in some way feel broken to connect with their inner wholeness. A mindfulness instructor since 2003, Vince offers a deep level of presence that meets you where you are, building trust for the exploration and location of all necessary strengths and resilience within your own history and experience. Vince can coach you through a career transition, help you process painful experiences, and help your teenager navigate the new challenges he or she faces. He can help you make sense of your past, live more joyfully in the present, and gain newfound hope for the future.
Research shows that so much of the difficulty that appears in our lives – from relationship and career dissatisfaction, to the behaviors we adopted to cope with it all but that no longer serve us – result from the ways we get stuck in past experiences. Locating and transforming these stuck places can free us to live more openly and with less fear and withdrawal. Vince’s commitment is guiding you in this process of healing, and bearing witness to the wise re-authoring of your unique human life.
Vince understands that each life necessarily intertwines with wider interpersonal, social, and cultural fabrics, and that to dismiss the very true realities of racism, sexism, homophobia, and other large-scale injustices is ultimately to dismiss the individual. Instead, Vince meets the whole of who you are without assuming that his experience of these influences could match your own.
Vince holds a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Oakland University. He is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Michigan, and is Nationally Board Certified. Employing an integrative approach, Vince uses trauma-informed Psychodynamic, Existential, Narrative, and Cognitive-Behavioral orientations and techniques tailored to individual client needs.
He can accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, HAP, and Cofinity insurances. He also accepts private pay and, on a case by case basis, sliding scale payments.

“Perhaps the biggest tragedy of our lives is that freedom is possible, yet we can pass our years trapped in the same old patterns . . . We may want to love other people without holding back, to feel authentic, to breathe in the beauty around us, to dance and sing. Yet each day we listen to inner voices that keep our lives small.” --Tara Brach
