Life’s challenges keep coming. Depression, anxiety, substance abuse, relationships, anger; do these issues sound familiar? I am dedicated to assisting people working through these and other problems getting in the way of living a productive and emotionally satisfying life. My clients seek counseling to: cope with anxiety and panic attacks; resolve troubling relationships; learn stress reduction skills to manage physical and mental reactions to chronic illness; cope with transitions and losses; manage anger and/or prevent angry outbursts; and explore whether their substance use, eating, or gambling patterns are interfering with their lives. Often Cognitive Behavioral therapy can help. EMDR is exceptionally helpful in changing the brain to reduce and or eliminate anxiety.
Habits of thinking learned in childhood, such as chronic worry or impulsive behavior, affect our lives today. Chronic depression and anxiety can upset relationships or create problems at work. Self-defeating habits can rule our lives. Greater control over our lives and confidence in our decisions are possible benefits of therapy.
